Birthday Post #2: Built By Sports
What's up guys and gals of all ages. Just like I've told you, this blog will be positive. This blog post is a part of my month-long birthday celebration. Today, I will tell you how sports became a part of my life and what are my favorite sports team. I guarantee you, this will be a fun and happy blog. Without further ado, let's get it started.
To be honest, sports are a part of my life since day one. It became a part of my life since I was born when my mom and dad agreed to name me after one of the greatest basketball players of all time, Kobe Bryant. Also, I was almost named after Reggie Miller too, who is one of the best 3-point shooters of all time and one of the best color commentators on T.V right now but, it is also the name of my what could be my brother if he didn't die because of miscarriage, so they decided to just name me after my father (Romel became Ramuel) and to Kobe Bryant. The backstory is my dad is a former basketball player here in our barangay and also a basketball fan. He loves San Miguel Beermen of the PBA and I don't know what is his favorite NBA team, but he knows plenty of basketball players in the 90s. While my mom, she is also a sportswoman when she is young (I don't know what sport did she played). She loves the San Antonio Spurs especially their big three of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili of the NBA. Fun story: When I was in Grade 6, I pretended to have sick so I and my mom could watch Game 6 of the 2014 NBA Finals between the Spurs and the Miami Heat. She also loves Kobe Bryant (obviously) and Dirk Nowitzki. Her favorite team in the PBA is Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok and her favorite PBA players are Alvin Patrimonio and James Yap (it makes sense because my mom and James are both from Negros Occidental). She really loves watching the Olympics (especially swimming because of Michael Phelps) and Asian Games (she watched the 2002 edition while I was in her womb) Well, my sister is more interested in K-Pop than watching sports. Since I was young, I watch basketball. I am more interested in NBA than Spongebob Squarepants (my fave cartoons). When I was 5 or 7 years old, I've memorized all of the 30 NBA teams. When I became older, my passion for sports expands to some disciplines like American football, ice hockey, baseball, soccer (football in some countries), and swimming (it became lilo when Phelps retired). I've never tried joining our school sports team since I was in elementary (I can't represent my school in sports, but I can represent them in the quiz bee). Sports also became a part of my dreams. I want to design some logos for some sports teams or if I have some money because of graphic designing, I will study again so I could be a basketball coach. I became in love with sports, even if I'm not an athlete because I am inspired to do my best every day, to work hard, to learn teamwork and camaraderie, and I learned the essence of winning by watching sporting events.
My favorite sports are basketball, American football, and ice hockey. My favorite sports teams are Los Angeles Lakers (NBA), Los Angeles Sparks and Las Vegas Aces (WNBA), Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok (just like my mom) and Terrafirma Dyip (PBA), Cleveland Browns (NFL), Vegas Golden Knights (NHL), and Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB). My favorite athletes are Kobe Bryant, Stephen Curry, and Luka Doncic from the NBA, Candace Parker, Aja Wilson, and Arike Ogunbowale from the WNBA, James Yap, Paul Lee, and CJ Perez from the PBA, Jarvis Landry, Patrick Mahomes III, and Aaron Donald from the NFL, Alexader Ovechkin, William "Wild Bill" Karlsson, Johnathan Marchessault, Marc Andre Fleury from the NHL, Mookie Betts from the MLB, Lionel Messi from Soccer, Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka from tennis, Manny Pacquiao and Canelo Alvarez from boxing, and Michael Phelps and Katie Ledecky from swimming. (Too long right?)
Another long blog for all of you readers. I hope you will enjoy another blog from me. I wish just like some of the best athletes in the world, you do your best and work hard because it will pay off. God bless you and your family. Peace. Love. And I will end this with a quote from Rudy Tomjanovic:
"You can't underestimate a heart of a champion."
See you tomorrow. Goodbye.
Your Teammate,
Ramueeeeeeeel
